Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships at Coverage Care are a fantastic opportunity for people of any age to 'earn while you learn', giving you the skills and knowledge to make a difference to the lives of our residents and patients.
To become an Apprentice on one of our fully funded Apprenticeships, you must:
- Be 16 or over (there is no upper age limit)
- Be living in England or Wales
- Not be in full time education
We offer a tailor-made apprenticeship that includes to learn & develop new skills:
your development
Supernumerary means that you will be observing and learning the care role for the first 2 months of your apprenticeship, as you progress you will be offered more involvement in discussion with your mentor.
You will need to work at least 30 hours per week and the apprenticeship must last a minimum of 12 months, though some higher levels will last longer. You will gain job specific skills, and on completion be recognised as qualified to perform your role.
Apprenticeship Career Pathway
Apprenticeship
Start the new career working towards completing the level 2/3 Health & Social Care qualification or Nursing pathways.
Care Assistant
Integral part of the team and Coverage Care family. Again working towards completing the Level 2/3 Health & Social Care qualification.
Care Team Shift Leader
Responsible for your team of Care Assistants, qualified in Level 2/3 Health & Social Care. Perhaps looking to train as a nurse or become Deputy Home Manager.
Deputy Home Manager
Responsible for non-clinical team members. Leading by example showing new developing staff the way and ensuring high standards of care. Must be level 3 in Health & Social Care and experienced as a Care Team Shift Leader.

Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship
Level 2
The Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is for frontline staff who help adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives.
Apprentices will learn in a blended format which includes expert-led classroom training in core topics such as communication, health and wellbeing, treating people with respect and dignity. This is supported by on-line learning and on the job learning in the workplace. Apprentices will also work towards the Care Certificate.
Apprentices will build a portfolio of evidence. The end-point assessment for completion of the apprenticeship comprises written and practical tests as well as a professional dialogue and interview.
The target time for completion of the apprenticeship is 12 -15 months.
The Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship
Level 3
Lead Adult Care Workers make a positive difference to people's lives when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges. They will be expected to exercise judgement, take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control and also supervise the work of other care workers.
Apprentices will learn in a blended format which includes expert-led classroom training in core topics such as health and wellbeing, communication, treating people with respect and dignity, professional relationships, supporting colleagues. This is supported by on-line learning and on the job learning in the workplace.
Apprentices will build a portfolio of evidence. The end-point assessment for completion of the apprenticeship comprises written and practical tests as well as a professional dialogue and interview.
The target time for completion of the apprenticeship is 15 - 18 months.
